The review gives the impression that it is not for learning UML or software design, more for reference, but i am reasonably sure that i can learn UML from it. This book makes learning UML enjoyable and pragmatic by incrementally introducing it as an intuitive language for specifying the artifacts of object analysis and design. Yesterday I bought 3 ebooks from you, for a total cost of more than 60$ (Learning UML 2.0, Ruby Programming Language and JRuby Cookbook). I'm far from a UML expert but from what I can tell, this is a pretty complete package that includes tooltips, multiple connection points, and expandable compartments. As with all online and blended learning, the preferred pedagogical approach is to encourage participation of learners in active learning; interaction; and engagement with the instructor, learning materials, and fellow learners. But I am also learning more updating my UML skills to encompass UML 2.0. Basically i am reasonably sure of UML 2.0 in a nutshell. Web 2.0 for learning, collaboration and performance; Blended learning design using web 2.0 tools and platforms; Point of need performance support – online and mobile (group activity); Audio and video podcasts that share expertise; Synchronous: Webinars and virtual worlds; Asynchronous: Discussion forums, wikis and blogs (group activity) an oldy but a goody – if you need a flowchart or a UML diagram and you're working somewhere that doesn't have the tools:. I keep raking up information I forgot I knew when I learnt UML. This book lets you apply the theory as you learn SQL. "Last Stand" is the worst 2 hour Chevy ad I've ever seen.
